Building Project Continued

On Saturday August 16th the guild members met at Dann Roark's shop in Kona to continue our uke project. We are getting close to the end and expect to have nearly 20 ukes completed within the next month and a half. It's been a learning experience for all concerned. We've made a lot of mistakes and learned how to fix them. Everyone now knows how to remove a top and back, as well as a glued on neck. It's been an experience! Here are some photos from the meeting.

Working under a temporary tent and portable tables. Each member works at their own pace, so there is quite a spread in the kinds of work going on.

A temporary spray booth set up.

Obviously important discussions!

Work in progress.

A happy member. The neck is finally almost done!

Discussing scale lengths and saddle compensation.

It's a uke guild! You have to have someone playing the uke.

A clamping jig for gluing on the bridge.
